Rob Ryan is one of my favourite artists, mainly because of his quaint imagery and his detail, but also because of his romantic and poetic writing. The use of intricacy and contrast create breathtaking images that work on small and large scale. His work relates to us on a day to day basis as alot of his topics are just straight from the heart.
I think Rob Ryan’s style can relate to Emily Dickinson’s poem, because of its deep and meaningful storyline. So again I created a piece for the poem in a similar style. I really like the idea of illustrating this poem with an edgy and more contemporary style as it would show that the subject matter of the text still relates to the everyday person of this generation.
Its a very rough and unplanned piece, I wont be using this exact style for the piece obviously as its not my own, but its has helped me develop my drawing skills.
