Before this I was looking at old stairs and archways, the stairs I found were abandoned which gave them a liminal feel, and the archways had connotations of passing and transition. This led on to the idea of the Old abandoned Asylum as a liminal space.

This place is overgrown and rundown, but there is still wallpaper peeling off the walls inside. This ruin is slowly decaying. Decay being a word to describe something which is dying or dissapearing, but not yet gone. A sight like this creates an ominous feeling, a feeling that it’s not dead, that things still happen here.
I have found it hard to get my head around the idea of the liminal, but this place has a very literal idea of liminality as it is full of memories and history, and is still being brought to life through peoples fears and imaginations.
